We bow our heads to the many generations of First Nations land, water, and climate protectors — past, present, and future.

As a climate justice organisation, we recognise that the climate and biodiversity crisis is rooted in colonial capitalist systems and values that have separated people from each other and from the Earth.

For tens of thousands of years, First Nations communities have lived in deep relationship with land and sea, guided by knowledge systems, law, spirituality, and science grounded in reciprocity, responsibility, and care.

Our greatest opportunity in the struggle for climate justice is to learn from — and be guided by — these enduring systems and values.
